This headquarters facility was designed as a contemporary administrative campus that embodies a sense of community for the 2,000 agents who work there. A curved, tree-lined promenade is punctuated by the main administration buildings, forming the entry and a grand central courtyard beyond.

United States Courthouse

Laredo, TX, USA

The courthouse was sited to respond to the rich architectural character of historic downtown, with a low three-story mass to reflect the neighborhood context. It accommodates courtroom/judicial suites, court support spaces, government agency offices and secure lobby/entry screening components. The use of simple yet powerful monumental forms, elegantly detailed, express the permanence and dignity of the United States courts system.

Wake County Detention Center, Phase 2 Expansion

Raleigh, NC, USA

This new facility combines improved efficiency and safety while planning for future expansion and minimizing environmental impact. As a multi-use facility, the role of identification in booking and open intake as well as administration space and forensic labs were incorporated, creating an innovative, responsible, and forward thinking criminal justice facility.
