Ahmad Soueid, to deliver Keynote presentation at the Micro/Nano Symposium

Ahmad Soueid, National Director for the Advanced S+T Research Program at HDR Architecture, will deliver his keynote presentation, Building for Nano: Past and Future, on Monday, June 28th, at the UGIM symposium at Purdue University. His presentation will focus on the evolution of facilities over the past decade as well as trends now emerging, and he will share his vision of the future of these facilities.

Soueid will address knowledge and tech transfer as research tools evolve and as research moves from basic to applied research and commercialization; and he will discuss the effect these changes are likely to have on nanotechnology facilities of the future. He will also review, at a strategic level, some of the lessons learned from earlier facilities and new approaches to design and construction that enhance science and engineering at this scale.

Soueid, AIA, LEED AP, serves as HDR Architecture’s National Director for the Advanced S+T Research Program, providing creative leadership for the design of critical environments. With over two decades of focused experience in the design of technically challenging science facilities, he is a prolific author and is frequently invited to speak on a variety of topics about design for nanotechnology facilities. Soueid was recently appointed to the Executive Board of the Institute of Environmental Sciences and Technology (IEST) with the intent to encourage IEST global participation and recognition.
