Lidia Berger, MEM, IIDA, LEED AP, Vice President, Eastern Director, Sustainable Design Solutions, has accepted a position on the editorial advisory board of eco-structure magazine. The board is comprised of a select group of leaders across both the country and the green building and design professions “who will provide unbiased information that provokes thought, discussion and improvements to ensure the green building industry continues evolving for the better,” says Katie Weeks, editor. “It’s my goal to cover green building and environmental performance in the built environment from all angles, including specific building techniques and systems to the latest sustainable structures and proposals, touching on all aspects of a project, from landscape and urban planning to individual structures and interiors.”
Berger was invited to join the editorial board as a result of her 15 years of professional experience in the Nation’s Capital, the last seven years working for HDR Architecture. She is a nationally known speaker, noted for her leadership roles in several industry organizations. A founding member of the USGBC National Capital Region Chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), she was involved in the development of the LEED-CI rating system and served on the LEED-EB (Existing Buildings) Core Committee charged with developing the LEED rating system for existing buildings. She received her Master of Environmental Management – Leadership in Environmental Policy Degree from Duke University.
