During its 115-year heritage, Huntington Memorial Hospital has undergone many facelifts. Phase I of the far-reaching building program relocated the main entrance. The new “front door,” which provides increased visibility in the community, also facilitates patient and visitor access to the hospital. Phase II, also known as the East Tower Addition, was the first overbuild of an operational, patient-occupied hospital in California. The tower accommodates 96 patient rooms on three stories, encloses a mechanical floor, and provides a rooftop heliport. Phase III included design and construction of a West Tower wing similar to Phase II. These renovations replace older facilities on campus and reflect the hospital’s dedication to bringing compassionate, state-of-the-art medical care to the citizens of San Gabriel Valley.
