The new Bridgepoint Hospital is part of the Canadian government’s five-year, $30-billion-plus infrastructure investment plan and will serve people in need of rehabilitation services and those living with complex chronic disease and disability. The 472-bed facility will be a 10-story-high, technologically-advanced healing environment that will redefine what a hospital can be. Spacious patient rooms will be designed specifically for complex care and complex rehabilitation needs. Therapy and rehabilitation spaces on every floor will provide patients with improved access to therapy. Clinical space will offer inpatients and outpatients access to leading clinicians. Classrooms and a lecture hall will support clinical education and research. HDR is the prime architect on this monumental project. The selected team, Plenary Health Bridgepoint, includes Plenary Group, HDR Architecture/Diamond Schmitt Architects Inc., PCL Constructors Inc., Johnston Controls Inc., Innisfree, and RBC Capital Markets.
