DuBiotech is the world’s first free-zone focused on the biotechnology industry and an important component of the Crown Prince of Dubai’s vision to transition his country to a knowledge-based economy. The master plan calls for over 2.75 million square meters of built space, establishing a world-class infrastructure to handle the diverse requirements of the bio-pharma industry and provide a scientific hub for collaborative research among corporate and academic organizations. The master plan led to the design of the DuBiotech Headquarters (an AIA Honor Award winner) and the DuBiotech Nucleotide Laboratory Complex, which initiated development of the campus.
